AD&D 2nd Edition » New SpellsDark Aria Spell Level: 6 School: Charm, Conjuration Range: 30 ft. Components: V, M Duration: 1 turn Casting Time: 1 Area of Effect: 50 ft. x 50 ft. Saving Throw: Special This spell calls forth the voices of the dead and combines them into one piece of beautiful and chilling music. The music seems soothing at first and very faint, but seconds after it begins all creatures in the area of effect become terrified. Any creature of 4 hit dice/levels or lower will immediately run out of the area and then enter a state of shock for 3 days, unable to eat or sleep. All they do is mumble about the dead children calling for them. Creatures of 5 hit dice/levels or more must make a save versus spell to remain in or enter the area. If the save is failed, they run in blind fear for 5d4 rds. After that they remain in a state of shock for 1 day as mentioned above. If the save succeeds, they are still scared but manage to keep their wits about them. They hear the individual voices in the song and see 1d4 spirits per round. The spirits appear and disappear every round. They also get a negative equal to the number of spirits they see that round. The negative goes to hit rolls, saving throws, damage rolls, moral, initiative, and armor class. The material components for this spell are a memento or piece of bone from a child that died before its time and blessed by a good priest. The caster must have at least 20 such items. The caster is not effected by the spell. |
