Caster must designate the center and height (ten foot maximum) from which the embers fall. The center may be a fixed location, object or creature. The creature can save in that case; the spell is centered one foot behind the creature. The ashes cause 3D6 points of damage save for half modified by dexterity. Stone or metal structures give complete shelter. Wood, thatch or similar materials provide cover for only one round, after that the material is burned to badly. A large or medium shield reduces damage to half or one quarter if save is made. Saves must be rolled each round creatures are in the area of effect. |
