Area of Effect: One target

Gabrielle developed this powerful spell to help her combat multiple opponents. When cast it causes a barely visible beam of silver energy to flash from the caster's hand and automatically strike the target. Once struck the target must make a Saving Throw vs. Spells (at a -1 penalty for every 3 levels of the caster). If the target Saves nothing else happens and the spell is wasted. However, should the target fail its Saving Throw the target finds itself "frozen", this is not the full extent of the spell, though. This spell creates a mystical connection between the caster and the target. Any attack that strikes the caster and does damage instead affects the target. Further, an illusion of the damage done covers the caster, while the real damage suffered by the target is hidden behind a similar phantasm. Further, the target creature finds itself unable to speak or move for 1d4+1 rounds when the spell first takes effect. Gabrielle usually casts this spell on the most powerful member of an attacking party, who is seemingly frozen, then invites her enemies to do their worst. All of the damage she "takes" is actually suffered by their "frozen" comrade, who is unable to communicate the truth of his distress. If the target survives the 2-5 rounds of being "frozen" it will usually gasp out a warning, at which time Gabrielle drops the spell and appears unscathed and quite angry with her attackers. Even if the target is killed the spell continues to hold, all damage being transferred to the corpse of the target. At the spell's end (unless ended by Gabrielle herself) the illusion is dropped and the target suddenly evidences all of the wounds it has taken. Similarly the illusionary damage the caster has suffered disappears, showing a caster unscathed and now familiar with the favored attack modes of her foes.
