Sarah's Song

By:

Authors Note: This poem is dedicated to a friend of mine named Sarah Taccone. She passed away on July 4th 2003 at the age of 16. We'll miss you Sarah, I know you loved poetry and this one's for you.

The Slient calm of night is shattered.
The sound of glass shards falling can seem similar.
As if the church is being destroyed
And all of God's creations are rebelling.

Some question the way God works
Others follow blindly and listen to cliches.
Ones like "God works in mysterious ways."
I say to hell with it. I will no longer have no shame.

I will admit to sins committed but will not confess.
I curse upon the almighty for he has forsaken me.
That which is holy does not deserve to bring upon me such grief.
Which is why my sadness will be brief as I hold the gun and cry under the sheets.

The end is coming soon there is nothing else to live for
though I did not love Sarah she was one I cared for.
The lack of sleep is why I cannot go on amymore
All that glitters is not Gold, Sarah may be on a stairway to Heaven
But I will be on an escalator straight to hell.
