The Raven's Call
By:
Johnson, Samuel
As I walk along a river I hear a call. I walk near to see what made the call. As I walk I see a raven on a post near the big oak tree. It looks at me in awe as I'm a god. Alas I am not but friendly am I. It flies on my shoulder and I ask him why. He looks and his eyes glow red and said "SO YOU MAY DIE." I look in shock but fear not will I and you will see why. I telln him bow down before me fowl. He bows and says "your power is great but not great enough let me show you. And he shows me a sword and a beam of light shines. He says " I am king of the river and forest you stand on and I say you shall die". As a command from my king the raven I listen and take the sword and stick it through my heart I feel an anguish in my soul and fall. Now I lie wondering why could I die by a fowl and not by men. But am I dead no I GET UP AND STRIKE HIM he falls and I stab him with the sword that struck me. He dies and I am now king of the forest.
