The Girl In The Mirror
By:
Stephanie Mikulic
This girl in the mirror is not me, She appears to be, But... The redness in her eyes, The roughness of her voice, The darkness in her soul... All this, All this is not me, Yet it appears to be. She mocks, She insults, She has a pain I feel. I smash the mirror, Never wanting to see her again.. My hand bleeds, Stinging with pain. Till I notice there are thousands. Thousands of the dreaded soul. I look sadly in the mirror, And finally understand. She may not be me, But a part of me. She is my pain, She is my anger, She is my sorrow. She is all the things I try not to think about. She appears to be me, Yet she is only a fragment of my soul...
