Magical Rings
By:
This mystic piece of jewelry is in the form of a heavy gold ring, set with a large, square-cut, black sapphire. As jewelry the item is worth perhaps 10,000 g.p., but if its magical properties are discovered its true value becomes known.
Powers:
- The bearer, at a simple mental command, can cause a silver-streaked crimson ray to spring from the ring. The ray has a range of 90 feet and will automatically strike unless the target makes a Save vs. Spells. If the target Saves the ray misses and is treated as a grenade-like missile for hit determination.
Any being struck by the ray suddenly finds all of its skeletal muscles in a excruciating state of cramping. This causes excruciating pain and renders the being incapable of movement. This effect will last for 6 rounds. In addition, the being must make a second Saving Throw vs. Spells or lose 2 points of Constitution for 1d6+1 turns. Further, the being suffers penalties of -2 to hit and on Saving Throws for 2 turns after the effects wear off. This power may be called upon once every 3 rounds for a total of 9 times per day.
