Mage-blade
Magical Weapons And Armor
By:
This powerful blade was forged specifically for a Magic User's use. It appears to have been forged from a single, burnished piece of steel. The hilt is elongated, though its smooth, simple twisted design was done merely to give a good gripping surface. Set in the pommel is a perfectly spherical eye. The carved eye's pupil appears only on one side at a time, though it always faces outward.
When drawn, purple flames dance along the edges of the blade, and when the blade uses any of its powers the eye flashes purple also. The Mage-blade possesses the following powers:
- The blade is a +4 Magic Weapon
- The magical flames dancing along the blade's edges do double damage (2d4+4) to any evil-aligned creature. In addition the flames are equivalent to torchlight for lighting purposes.
- Spell-Reflection: The Mage-blade reflects magic cast at it or at its wielder. Each round roll 1d8, if a hostile magical item discharge, spell effect, or spell-like power is of a level lower than the roll, it is completely reflected back at the source. If its level is higher, it takes affect normally. If the roll is a tie both the wielder and the source of the hostile magic are affected (50% each).
